Capture Those Baby Parts by Zooming In |

My FAVORITE technique when photographing people, especially children and infants, is to zoom in. Think about it... What makes babies so beautiful? It's their bits... those tiny toes, squishy rolls of skin... those bits that only come with babies. Those are the parts that I want to remember, so that's what I photograph most often.
Sure, you're kid might be cute. But what makes him special? Does he have fantastically long eye lashes? Does he have ears too big for his tiny head? Look at him, decide the most amazing physical trait and zoom in. Do it today because someday, his lashes and ears will be in proportion to his body and the moment will be gone. Here's what I love about my son - Check out his wrist! Look at those dimples where his knuckles should be!
And I had to catch those lashes and big round eyes.
And the cheeks... those edible cheeks that someday, he won't let me kiss anymore (a la his older brother who won't let me give him a kiss goodbye at the bus stop anymore...).
So look at your kids. Look closely. Which parts GRAB you? Find 'em, then grab your camera and zoom!
