Here are instructions on submitting articles and posts at PictureMyCamera.
- Click My Articles on the left menu (which appears only when logged in).
- Next to "New," choose the proper section. (Do not use News, as that is just for official posts).
- Enter
your Title (think first and foremost, "What would someone type enter a
search to find this information," which will help you boost traffic to
your article).
- Choose the category in the next line
- Enter ONLY INTRO TEXT
(your first paragraph, and what you want to show on home page as
teaser) in the box here. If you add an image here, please keep it no larger than 150 pixels on the longest side. Larger photos should be saved for the body instead.
- Scroll down and enter the rest
of your content in the SECOND box. You will see icons for some basic
formatting, such as bold and italic, here.
- To
add an image, click the little picture icon. In the bottom half of the
popup box, you will see a section that says “Browse.” Find the little
green upload button (mouse over if needed), and then find image. Check
the box that says select after upload. Then insert. You can change the
size right in this upload box, but be sure to leave it checked to leave
the size ratio correct. Please do not insert an image wider than 400
pixels, and please align images to the left or right.
- At the bottom, you will see options for Publishing and Meta Data. Under publishing, be sure that it is set to Published, available to everyone, and the Publish to Front Page option is checked.
- Click save (the small disc icon)
- Your
article will go into an approval queue. You should get an email
notifying you it was received, and another notification once it goes
live.
